How to get the source code

Distribution policy

We distribute the code freely to individuals, but require the users to agree to a personal licence agreement. We also issue site licences, on the condition that the site keeps the source code confidential. Additionally, benchmark licences, valid for a restricted period of time, are available.

Any published work with results obtained with the Dalton2016 suite must include the citation:

and one or both of the following two citations (replace X with current patch number), as appropriate:

  • LSDalton, a linear scaling molecular electronic structure program, Release Dalton2016.X (2015), see

The article is "open access" and e.g. the bibtex format of the citation can be obtained from the publisher.

The authors of the Dalton suite accept no responsibility for the performance of the codes, nor for the correctness of the results obtained. However, we will of course announce any problem discovered by a user or ourselves on; and we will attempt to fix the problem for the next patch, if possible, or otherwise disable the feature.

When certain unique features of Dalton/LSDalton are used in published work, we ask you to also cite the papers that describe their implementation, as indicated in the manual. As we distribute the codes for free, the "payment" we ask for is proper recognition of our work through your citations.
